Warren Roy is CEO & Founder of Global Relay. A lifelong entrepreneur and 20-year veteran in information technology, Warren worked in the architecture and engineering industries during the transition to computer-aided design. In 1999, he founded Global Relay, one of the first companies to offer hosted email archiving services and a pioneer of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), now better known as the cloud. Warren’s vision has always been to create technology that redefines how the world communicates and leverages data. At Global Relay, he drives the design and development of enterprise-class, cloud-based messaging, collaboration, and archiving solutions that address the financial industry’s compliance requirements. Today, Global Relay has 20,000 customers globally — including 22 of the world’s top 25 banks.
Under Warren’s leadership, Global Relay has become an established leader in information archiving, eDiscovery, and compliance messaging. Global Relay has received numerous awards, including BCTA Company of the Year (2016), Deloitte Canada’s Best Managed Companies (2014), BC Business’ Most Innovative Companies (2013), and the City of Vancouver’s Award of Excellence for Business Innovation (2014). Global Relay has also been named to the Deloitte Technology Fast 50/500 and Profit 500 lists, which rank the fastest-growing companies in Canada and North America.
In 2013, Warren was named Entrepreneur of the Year and Person of the Year by Ernst & Young and the BC Technology Industry Association, respectively. He has also been named BC CEO of the Year by the Business in Vancouver Magazine for his outstanding vision, strategy, and leadership at Global Relay.
